Announcements not appearing
Hi all,
Excellent portal. Everything went without a hitch with the install, and I'm now having fun deciding what information to show. But, I can't get Announcements to appear in the block. This is going to be something simple that I have missed, but I've studied it and searched for the same problem on here with no luck

Thanks in advance
Nige.

RE: Announcements not appearing
Hey,

1. Login admin control panel
2. Click "Pro Portal" in the top navigation
3. Click "Portal settings" in the left navigation
4. Find setting "Forum ID to pull announcements from" (Its the secodn setting), change this to the ID of the ID of the board you want announcements to be pulled from.

"How do I check the ID?"
Head to your forum inde and click on the announcements board (So now you're on the page that lists announcements).

At the URL you should see: forumdisplay.php?fid=# the # is the board ID.

Scroll down and hit save.

RE: Announcements not appearing
Thanks Alex, have done as you've instructed. However, all I get now is a sql error. Angry

Quote:MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue.

SQL Error:
1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') AND visible='1' AND closed NOT LIKE 'moved|%'' at line 1
Query:
SELECT COUNT(*) AS annnum FROM mybb_threads WHERE fid IN (4,) AND visible='1' AND closed NOT LIKE 'moved|%'

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Nige

RE: Announcements not appearing
Dumb question, you did put just the number of the forum, not the complete string?

RE: Announcements not appearing
Does it work fine if you show only the one forum, so instead of 24,55 you do either 24 or 55? If this works then sounds like bug report should be put in. I only have one forum I pull posts from and this work fine.
